WitterBrick Registry Guidelines & Rules

About the Registry

In true dedication to the collecting experience that WitterBrick is on a mission to share with you, the team has put together an incredible program to complete collections online and compete with their fellow collectors. We invite everyone who owns a WitterBrick coin to enter the coin’s certification number into their inventory. Once a coin is inventoried, it will be eligible to be placed in a qualifying collection.

At this time, only WitterBrick certification numbers issued by CAC Grading (CACG) are available to use in the WitterBrick Registry. Since WitterBrick coins are graded by CACG they are also eligible for CACG’s set registry programs, but other CACG coins are currently not eligible for the WitterBrick program.

We took a lot of time to build a fun and easy to understand system dedicated to building great collections with you! The WitterBrick Registry builds off the engaging aspects of traditional set registries made popular by the hobby while focusing on simplifying the overall experience and maximizing the fun for all to enjoy.

These collections, just like our coins, are carefully curated and structured to tell the story of numismatics with a little bit of a twist. In addition to a scoring system based on the condition of the coin (grade) there are also bonus points for labels and designations.

The team has defined all the rules, scoring, bonuses and key information needed to understand how the WitterBrick Registry works and how to calculate the score for a given coin or set.

Rules & Conditions

Right now it’s very simple to participate in the WitterBrick Registry program, all you need is a free account on the WitterBrick website and a WitterBrick coin.

WitterBrick Coins are only issued through WitterBrick releases and are designated by a “WitterBrick” pedigree on every label. Additionally the team manages a robust inventory of certification numbers internally which will only allow for WitterBrick certification numbers to be entered into the program.

For a coin to be inserted into the inventory, it must be an active WitterBrick certification number. Once it is in inventory and made available, it can then be entered into qualifying collections.

All imaging is handled automatically by auto populating CACG images and will be in your inventory and collections. There is no need or function to upload your own images of the coin.

As mentioned, you must have an account on WitterBrick.com and create a unique username that your collection(s) will be associated with. WitterBrick is a family friendly and professional brand that reserves the right to modify or delete inappropriate user names at the team's discretion.

Scoring

The most important aspect of the scoring will be the grade of the coin determined by CACG. We will be sticking to the traditional numismatic Sheldon 70 point grading scale for the scoring. This allows for a much more robust and easier to understand scoring system based on the numismatic standards set for the hobby.

The coin points scoring system is as follows:

Each collection designed by the WitterBrick team will also have a rarity multiplier built into the set and visible on the set description page. This is to help make these different collections not only more competitive, but also factor in the physical rarity of various coins throughout the program.

For example, an Early Copper Large Cent should have more impact on your type collection than a modern Lincoln Cent. These multipliers will multiply the points in the designated slot in each collection. The whole collection will then be divided by the sum of the multipliers (divisor) to create one collection score. Multipliers are determined by the WitterBrick team and can range from 1 through 10.

Label Bonuses

There are incredibly rare label variations & designs scattered through all the WitterBrick releases that can earn you extra points towards the scoring in the competitive collections, including samples. The following bonus points are automatically calculated and included in qualifying certification numbers.

The coins released from WitterBrick are some of the highest quality coins available on the market and oftentimes there are some that go above and beyond and receive additional designations from the graders.

For example there are additional grades such as cameo, deep cameo, full bell lines, and so on. These grade designations will automatically earn more points for each coin that has received these grades.

In Closing

Each WitterBrick coin in our database will have the corresponding points automatically assigned based on the grade, labels & designations and will be visible via the “Cert Search” tool, the active collections and on your inventory.

With the rarity multipliers and bonus point opportunities there are some scenarios that a set can score over 70 or some coins with a lower grade actually score higher than the same coin in similar or even higher grade condition.

We want to remind everyone that the WitterBrick Registry program is an ever evolving competition. There will be updates, more collections added over time, and occasionally adjustments to the structure and scoring as we all build WitterBrick together.

Welcome to the next chapter of collecting, welcome to WitterBrick.
